Bucks Place

Buckinghamshire Council has been selected as one of 14 local authorities to participate in the national pilot to test the new National Model Design Code. The initiative aims to set out rules for new developments so guidance and policies can be created to ensure all new projects meet the requirements set out in the Design Code for the local area. It will cover the design of streets, public spaces and building as well as spaces created for water and nature.

The Council has received a £50,000 grant from the Government to develop the Design Code for Buckinghamshire. Using a brand new, innovative web portal, ‘bucks.place’, residents and communities can tell the Council what they think – both good and bad – about where they live, and other local developments in the surrounding area.

You can use your smartphone or computer to tag the location, type your thoughts and snap a relevant photo, giving us your feedback on homes, nature, infrastructure and more. But we don’t just want to hear the things people love about where they live; we want to hear about any problems people may face living in Buckinghamshire, and what they’d like to see in future too.

Your involvement will help the Council to shape the future development of Buckinghamshire, ensuring that we are creating an exciting, accessible and thriving place for everyone to live.
